With regards to the other dog...he is being put down tonight. This is a really difficult thing because we did know the other dog and he was a sweetheart. We never imagined something like this would have happened. He was a rescue dog and it was believed he was abused prior to being rescued, so precautions were always taken to keep him away from other dogs when people weren't around. Unfortunately, yesterday, he broke out of his kennel and was able to get to Belle. I know the owners of this dog are incredibly sorry and feel so guilty for what happened (Belle had a place in their hearts as well) and that's why they are electing to have him put to sleep rather than risking this happening to someone else's dog or worse, a person.
It is sad because two dogs were lost because of this incident. However, everyone knows that it is for the best that Yuggy be put down.

This whole incident is just horrible. It's always more heartbreaking when you know the other dog wasn't just some vicious mutt out out for blood. I hope there will be peace in the end on both sides. So sorry for Belle! Her pictures are so precious! Will keep yall in my thoughts!!

Gosh this is just a bad story. No one wins. Abused dog? Good lord, who can blame it when all it knew was anger? This just sucks. I have a big soft spot for dogs, so this is heartwrenching for me.
