Shopping and Cleaning

One of my favorite things and one of my least favorite things.

And now for the not so fun part: Cleaning.

Ugh.



Cleaning and I do not get along very well. Rather, messes and I do not get along very well. Something will start out kinda cluttered and I hate the clutter. The clutter does not appreciate that I am not fond of it and so it rebels by turning into a full blown mess just so I have to clean. It's evil.



Well, my house has reached the level of "Danger Zone" so I'm taking the next two days off to clean, clean, and more clean. Actually, I'm going beyond cleaning. I'm cleaning, scrubbing, organizing, clearing out, and revamping my house. The past 6 months have finally caught up with me and my whole "I'm home by myself and I have too many other things to worry about" mentality when it comes to cleaning has come to a sudden halt.

I can't take it anymore.



My usual quick red-up (for those of you who don't speak the lingo this means a quick clean-up) has left a stack of clutter in every corner, folded laundry just sitting in clothes baskets, a pile of unused baby stuff taking up an entire (public) room, and odds and ends just stuffed in the few closets I do have. So I'm spring cleaning in the middle of summer. Just in time for our annual "Saving for Hawaii" yard sale in August and Stonewall's homecoming in September.



Every room is getting decluttered, organized, washed, dusted, and steam cleaned. This may be a bit ambitious for 4.5 days (especially when I do have a few plans over the weekend that cut into my cleaning time), but I'm going to give it my best. I am super motivated to get my entire house visitor-friendly by Sunday evening.



By gummet, if the Queen or the President want to stop by for some chips and dip, my house will be prepared.
