Things That Make You Go Hmmm: We Don't Plagiarize So You Can!

I subscribe to a website that sends out "Work At Home" jobs. (I'm mainly looking for little writing jobs I can do in the evening and whatnot.) Today one of the ads was for a company that "produces quality academic projects to be utilized as a guide for students in writing their own work."

In other words: You tell us the criteria for your term paper and we'll write it for you.

No, I'm serious. That's really what they mean. See? "You tell us the term paper topic and the exact criteria and our writers produce a completely original custom term paper that is 100% plagiarism free." Straight from the horse's website.

And this isn't just ANY freelance writing company. Oh no. "With 10 years experience and an excellent reputation, we need top level, motivated writers who want to work and earn an income that is limited only by the writer's speed and and proficiency in researching and writing." (Do I even need to comment about the irony of the double "and" in this sentence?)

And just to keep things on the up and up, all hired help should know this, "Please keep in mind that plagiarism and the theft of intellectual property is not tolerated and all work is scanned with anti-plagiarism software.

So let me get this straight.

I have to produce 100% original work, at least 10 pages a week, with all sources while following academic writing standards and citation that will pass inspection by anti-plagiarism software.

Then, you'll turn around and sell it to some college student who doesn't feel like earning his own grade, so he'll write HIS name on the title page and turn in MY work as his own hard work?

I am SO relieved that I have found a company that stands on strong principles and has a solid moral ground and frowns upon plagiarism.

All those parents of college students can rest easy tonight knowing that while their child may be cheating, they've paid only the finest company to make sure they won't get caught.

First post was meant for my Twitter! Sorry!

Collages are getting better at figuring out which papers are from their students and which are "proffesionally written".

It's wrong!

most colleges use the same anti-plagerism software as the company -- andwhat I've been told is that once a paper has been scanned it's also entered into the database, so you'd better be giving it to a dumb teacher!

That is just awful.

LOL that's too funny!

I can't understand the "cooperate to graduate" mindset! I worked hard to get my grades. So should they!

That is just despicable.

Being in college, I know how nice it would be to have someone do all my work for me, but then what would be the point of going to college at all?

Why not just pay someone to print you a diploma? I've heard you can pay someone to do that too.

Dude, if I wanted to write papers for college kids, I could make more money doing it on my own. Sheesh. What are they thinking? ;)

lol. Well that sounds like a dream come true for any college student...until of course you get caught, receive a failing grade ad get kicked out of school.

Most of these "sites" post a sample of the actual paper, and can easily be found when a teacher looks to see who actually wrote said paper. I've see it happen!
