We got new furniture!
This is the first furniture that Stonewall and I purchased together! All of our other furniture was either handed down to us or someone else bought it for us as a gift.
For quite awhile I’d been wanted to get rid of the love seat and replace it with two club chairs, but I couldn’t find any that I liked or that were affordable. When I saw this set in the store (in the clearance section none-the-less!) I knew the waiting had paid off because I had found MY (very affordable)furniture.
(Actually, the plaid sofa and chair are a set. The chair on the left was just a random piece sitting beside them, but it matched perfectly! I’m a huge fan of mixing patterns, so it was just meant to be.)
Stonewall wasn’t as convinced as I was. He thought it was “parlor furniture.” I’m not really sure what that meant, but that’s what he said. When I agreed to let him take the old furniture and create a “Man Den” in the back room we’d been using as a guest room, he was sold though.
Once we got the furniture in the house, Stonewall agreed that it was a much better fit than our old furniture.
I also bought a new clock…
It’s like that word art material. The numbers, leaves, and birds vinyl and are stuck on the wall. The clock mechanism is the only part that hangs on a nail.
So that’s our living room right now. Next up, new coffee table and rug…

Gorgeous! I really like that furniture, and it looks a lot better then what was there! Good purchase
LOVE it! Where did you find that rug at??? I want to redo my living room in those colors, only I'm opting for a green paint on the walls. Very cute!

It's really cute... can't wait to get new furnature! Ours is what I bought in college.
Love the furniture and the clock is so cool! We've used vinyl art a couple times through out the house and we love it!
"Parlor furniture" (!!!) Ha! You've just gotta love a good man phrase, amiright?
Good thinking on the man den idea. That's a stroke of wifely genius. And your rooms are darling. Cute post!
I think each room looks better. How lovely for summer you have a new look. Thanks for sharing.

So cute! I love coming in a room after I've given it a face lift! Such a happy looking room!
Don't get rid of the coffee table! It's my favorite (shoes on) foot rest!
