Every Thursday I contribute to a blog called Create My Event. (Although I was on an extended break until recently...) If I don't have an actual party that I planned to share with readers, I pick a theme and find different items from Etsy to share and hopefully, inspire readers for their own parties.
I'm asking you guys for theme ideas. If you have a special event coming up and you need some inspiration or you just have a really cool party idea for me to mull over, email me the theme and I'll see what I can come up with!
Also, if you have an Etsy shop and you have really great items that would make any party a success, let me know. I'll do my best to work it into a party!

I received an email about a great campaign called Trees for Troops.
"Trees for Troops helps to make the holidays a little brighter for military families - especially those who are far away from their families. The gift of real Christmas trees bring a touch of home to those who sacrifice in order to preserve our freedom. The trees serve as a token of love and appreciation... Many tell us that the gift of a tree frees up a few dollars to be used on gifts, a nice holiday meal or gas money to go visit family."
Trees for Troops is in the running to win $250,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project and they need your help to win. The money would be used to send Christmas trees to 5000 more military families!
Voting ends September 30, so head on over and show Tree for Troops your support!

Hawaii for Heroes Travel Guide is a travel book written specifically for military families for Hawaii travel. In the book readers will find places they can go and using their military ID receive a discount.
The book has been entered in the Gecko Writing Contest and it needs your help to win! By September 30, enter your vote by clicking on "Your Rating" and follow the prompts to register, get an email confirmation and then vote. While the voting process isn't quite as easy as we'd all like, the extra minute or two is for an awesome book.
I hope everyone has a great day!

Well, it's not so much a theme as something me and the hunny saw at a wedding and we want to do a party around it. I like to refer to it as a potato party or a spud soiree. Basically the wedding we went to had a mashed potato bar. They served a big scoop of mashed potatoes in a martini glass and then had huge bowls of bacon, chives, sour cream, blue cheese, sauteed onions, sauteed mushrooms, pretty much anything you can think of to put on mashed potatoes. And it was amazing. We are going to do this potato party sometime in the future with a mashed potato bar plus the same fixings for hash browns (mix it up and it's like your own little casserole). Mmmm, now I really want potatoes.
