The Fruits of Stonewall's Labor

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.  Unfortunately, now it's back to the grind.

The Mootz household had a pretty exciting weekend.  I did some Labor Day Sale shopping on Saturday and got some pretty good deals on fall/winter clothes for Lil Mootz.  I can't believe I'm shopping for 2T clothes for him already.  My little teeny beany baby is getting so big!

Lil Mootz discovered caterpillars for the first time this weekend.  He also discovered they would smush if he ran over them with his little car.  I suppose he's doing his part to control the butterfly population.

Lil Mootz also tried bungee jumping.

And since he eats the dog food, Lil Mootz has decided to eat like one of the pack as well and has done away with utensils and hands. (I wish I could say the picture just looks like he's eating without hands, but he was literally picking the donut up off the table with just his mouth, biting a piece off and letting it fall back onto the table.  Yes, I choose that moment to take pictures rather than have a moment regarding manners.)

The star of the weekend though was a project Stonewall started about a month ago. The previous owners of the house put a deck off the back of the house.

If you can even call that a deck.  I suppose that is insulting to real decks everywhere.

Anyway, Stonewall decided he was going to build us a bigger, better, and much prettier deck.  Over the past several weekends several family members have generously helped Stonewall.  On Friday, Stonewall glued the final post cap on...

As you can see the only thing left to do are the stairs.  However, those concrete stairs are HEAVY, so they'll suffice for now until Stonewall can borrow some big ass machinery to move them.

Last night we enjoyed dinner on our deck and just sat back and enjoyed the view.
