Guest Blogger, Guest Room & Guess We're Keeping It All-Natural

I'm a guest blogger over at Goodnight Moon!!  The first time I "met" Amber she was blogging about landscaping...and not her garden, but rather her "Barbara" as she called it.  She also greased her squeaky cabinet door with Pam (the cooking spray, not another name for her "Polly".) (Can I just say I'm starting to find it weird that I've mentioned another woman's "Esther" twice now on my blog...) I was in blog-love.  If you have never visited Amber and you've been on the look-out for an honest, gorgeous, and funny blogger, Amber is your gal :)

So head over to Goodnight Moon and check out my post: Being More Open.  You'll get to know a little more about me than when I've ever posted here.  I do think this guest post might be the start of something new here at the Pink Park Bench...

If you've been paying attention to my countdown over there on the right then you know Carsley is going to be here this week!

*happy happy happy joy joy joy dance*

Carsley has popped up here now and again because she is my absolute best friend.  However, after college she decided to venture on back to Texas and eventually she moved herself to Grand Cayman where she got married and DIDN'T INVITE ME!  (I've only sorta kinda forgiven her for that.)  As you may recall I visited her back in May and now she is visiting me!  The last time she came up this way for my sake was last summer when we went to Chincoteague.  This time, however, is the first time she will be coming to my house.  I'm so super psyched to be having her as my house guest!

The only hitch in my plans is that I don't have a guest room.  Up until we got our new furniture several months ago we sorta had a guest room.  Rather we had a room with a bed.  It was in a bad location though because to take our dogs outside to potty we would have to walk through the "guest room."  Not ideal.

Well, I was busy this weekend making up a proper guest room.  When we bought this house the new addition was actually called "In-Law Quarters" on the official paperwork.  It consisted of a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom.  The living room was the aforementioned "guest room" because the bedroom was our storage/laundry room.

With my mom's help, after much organizing, moving, drilling, shopping, and decorating my laundry/storage room is also /guest room!

We bought the comforter, pillows, and curtains this weekend.  I was lucky enough to have all the furniture, the vinyl wall stickers, the curtain rods, and that gorgeous gold mirror just sitting in my basement.

My mom and I built those giant closets about a year ago.  They weight a ton!  The one on the right was sitting in the same corner as the bedside stand in the previous picture.  A chiropractor visit is in my future, but we managed to move it across the room to make room for the bed.

Behind those curtain are my washer and dryer.  The original laundry room was in the basement, but we moved it to this room upstairs when Stonewall was deployed and I was a waddling pregnant woman.  To make room and keep the new plumbing to a minimum we removed the closet doors and put the washer and dryer in the closet.

I'm really happy and pleased with the way this room turned out.  I still have a laundry room and extra storage place with the giant closets, but now I also have a cozy, comfortable and private guest room.

We also went to DSW this weekend.  Apparently, there is a new boot trend.  I like to call it the "Uncircumcised Boot."

How was everyone else's weekend?  Dn't forget to check out my guest post!
