Mom's Life Monday #1: You Don't Say...

I used to participate in the a meme called "Mama Guilt Monday" and it was my favorite meme because I so loved to hear about other mamas' mishaps.  Not that I enjoy seeing others stumble (except when they trip and then that look around and hope no one saw them and then they try and saunter on like nothing happened...that's hilarious!), but let's be honest...we all like to know we're not the only ones screwing up our kids.  Unfortunately, the blog that hosted that meme stopped hosting it and as far as I can tell, no one has picked it back up again.

I want to start a similar meme.  Every Monday here at the Pink Park Bench, I'm going to host "Mom's Life Monday."  I'm hoping to get some of you moms out there to share your sweet and cuddly mommy stories as well as your embarrassing "Mommy will give you a cookie if you never tell anyone about that" mama moments.  Every Friday I'll post a prompt, so you can get your Monday post ready.  Some prompts will be very loosey-goosey, so you'll probably see them more than once, while others will be very specific.  I just decided to start this over the weekend, so I'm not expecting any sort of turnout today, but I'm hoping you-all will join me over the next several weeks.

Today's Prompt: I Never Thought I'd Say It...

There are things I'd never even imagined myself saying.  Now that I'm a mom it turns out that just about every other sentence out of my mouth ends with me saying, "Wow...did I really just have to say that?"  The sad part is those same unbelieveable sentences are usually said more than once.

My two all time favorite so far...

"We don't french kiss our puppies."

"We don't brush our wee-wees with our toothbrush."

Link up and tell us what great quotes your kids have inspired!

Too Funny! I spend a lot of time saying, "No Bunny! We don't wash the wall with our toothbrush!"

The worst is lately I've been doing the "Do you want a smack on your bum?!" in that threatening tone, and shes NODDING!!!

I grew up with a lot of disappointments and broken promises, so one thing I tried not to do when my kids asked if we could do something was to convey a definate "Yes!" It was always, "We'll see." or "Maybe." It was super annoying to my youngest who would always come back with, does, "We'll see mean YES?" (which normally, it did.... I just wasn't willing to make a promise I couldn't keep)
