A New Blog & A New Job

Did everyone have a great weekend?

Mine was pretty good.  I did some cleaning, watched some TV, slept for an extra hour... That extra hour sure is lovely, isn't it?  We also have a very exciting visitor and as long as everything goes well I'll be telling you more about that later.

In the meantime, two things...

I started a new blog!  The Pink Park Bench isn't going anywhere (I know you were concerned), so I'm taking on the task on writing two personal blogs.  I was inspired by a previous post I wrote to start a new project.  Just what I need, I know, but when the idea hit me I couldn't make it go away.  I sat on this idea for a week or so and I just kept getting more and more ideas for it, so I decided what the heck?

Introducing...

Click on the photo and check it out.  There's not much to it yet, but like I said, I have a ton of post ideas already.  Turns out my magazine disorder has a much bigger purpose than intended.  I always knew all those torn out magazine pages would come in handy.

And the second announcement...

You are reading none other than the new Working Parent Examiner!  I am SUPER excited about this one.  This isn't a personal gig, this is a PAYING gig!  If you aren't familiar with Examiner you should check it out.  More specifically you should check out my Examiner page.  The more people read my stuff, the more I get paid.  It's a win-win situation the way I see it.  You're dazzled by my working mom brilliance and I make money.

Anyone else out there an Examiner?  Let me know and I'll read yours if you read mine :)

Congrats!

I hope you enjoy the writing gig. I read your article - and I can relate even though I don't have little ones at home. But it does seem like a lot of special events are planned during the evening and weekend hours - which are often the hours I work. Thankfully, I love wwhat I do, but I hate missing out on things, too. Life just takes careful planning, and once you've got everything planned out perfectly your plans have a way of being tossed out the window while unplanned events take over. I guess the key is being flexible.... something I haven't quite mastered and probably never will. :-)
