Here's how it's going to work:
1. Leave me a comment with the name of your favorite charity.
2. If you post about this on your blog I will enter your name and charity into the drawing twice. (Don't forget to let me know in your comment that you put a post on your blog.)
3. On April 15, I will pick a name out of a hat (or bowl, whichever is more readily available) and donate to that person's favorite charity.
So, how much are we going to donate, you may be asking yourself. Well...for every comment, Stonewall and I will donate $1.00, up to $150.00. (So if 20 comments are left, we'll donate $20. If 200 comments are left, we'll donate $150.) So the more comments all of you leav e(and the more charities you all put in the running) the more money we will donate!
So what are you waiting for?! Go comment, comment, comment! And don't forget to tell your friends!

Families of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) is close to my heart. Its very much like Lou Gerighs ALS with the degeneration of muscles. My cousin was diagnoised when she was two months old and by six months she had passed away. She has been the only member of our family affected but the line that runs in our family is unfortunately the junvenille version which usually kills by the second birthday. Some are luckier (if you can call it taht) and live well into their 30's and while limited by their bodies they are not limited by their mind and spirit. Its a great organization that not only helps the families but pushes much needed research.
This is a great idea!
Well, I'm leaving a comment so you'll donate another dollar, but I doubt you'll be picking my charity, hehe. We always give to our church. We give a ten percent tithe that is mostly used for church programs, buildings, and the like that keep things running. Then, there are also other programs they run that we give some to every month.
The ones I usually donate to are the Perpetual Education fund, which gives small loans to people (I think mostly outside our country) to further their education so they can break out of the poverty cycle they came from. When they graduate and are on their feet, they then pay back what they owed (interest-free) and it helps someone else.
The other one we often support is for emergency relief both here in the US and across the world. They put together basic hygiene kits, distribute leper bandages and other medical supplies, and send food to famine zones, among other things.
We are Mormon.
ASPCA. because right now, when foreclosures happen, the pets are forgotten or dumped at the nearest shelter. Because when a military family PCSs, the pets are sometimes thrown out with the last pieces of trash.

My charity of choice is St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital. They help all sick kids, whether their parents can afford it or not. They do cutting edge research to help the sickest of children with little to no hope. Visit their website : www.stjude.org. Then give from your heart.
I love St. Jude's too- for obvious reasons. But seeing as that one has been chosen I vote for Curesearch. I've mentioned them on my blog. They donate 100% of everything they take in to children's cancer research and trials.
This is such a wonderful idea! How generous of you!
PS- I just blogged about it on my page :)
My favorite is Cure Search. Not enough is done for childhood cancer. I can vouch for that as I write to kids. I have lost way to many....

My charity of choice is CARD-V. They are against Rape & Domestic Violence, and that is something we should all do more to help prevent. This is such an awesome idea, thank you for your generosity!
I can't decide between 2, so since I'm your sister, I've decided that I'm allowed to vote for 2 charities. My choices are ASPCA and St. Jude's. :)
