Danielle (my SIL) sent Stonewall a harmonica in his most recent care package. Stonewall does not play the harmonica, but Danielle sent it as part of a running joke we have regarding Irishmen and shiny things.Well, after Stonewall received his care package, Danielle received this email:
Subject: The wonderful gift you sent your brother
Date: Wed, 13 May 2009 8:38:20
From: ******, Nicole M SSG *** BSB
To: <*******@yahoo.com>
Hi,
My name is SSG Nicole ****** and I am your brother's (CPT [Stonewall])
Admin NCOIC. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you from the
bottom of my boots for the HARMONICA you sent him:) I think I speak for
everyone in the CP when I say that the "wonderful" sounds that have been
emanating from it make the work day so much easier to bear. If you were
planning on sending him anything in the future, "Harmonicas For Dummies"
comes to mind:)
Oh, by the way, please keep a close watch in the mail for the DRUM SET
we will be sending to Jenna:)
PS: Your brother gave me your email address:)
SSG Nicole M. *******
******** BSB HR NCO
(Jenna is Danielle's 7 year old daughter.)
Stonewall has also informed me that an action figure of Obi Wan Kenobi that I sent him has become the outlet for typical boy behavior. Apparently, Obi Wan's lightsaber is being taped places it does not belong which is causing senior NCO's to "laugh and giggle like little schoolgirls."
(army)Wife Family: Raising the troops' morale one lightsaber and harmonica at a time.

Oh, the things those boys find amusing! Gotta love 'em though!
That just made my heart happy. I love hearing stories where the soldiers are able to goof off a little and actually have some fun!

Haha, oh that's too much. You have got to love how childish they become when given some random toys.
Good luck Obi Wan....
ROFL!!! Hilarious! It's always nice to get use out of a gift...especially when you can annoy everyone. :D
