But anyway...
Lil' Mootz is teething. Both of his bottom front teeth are in. He looks so cute when he smiles and his two little bottom teeth peep out. His teeth also make him look way older than 5 months. People seem shocked when I say how old he is.
His fangs are coming in now and he is a miserable little camper. I feel so bad for him. My MIL said she read that if adults had to go through the pain babies go through when they teeth, adults would pass out from the pain. Well, Lil' Mootz doesn't pass out. Instead he screams bloody murder. Nights are the worst and he spends a good portion of the night crying. I put Orajel on his gums, but I guess that only does so much good. My poor baby!
He's asleep right now. I guess I should probably head to bed too. I know he'll be up in a couple of hours crying. I'll rub some Orajel on his gums and he'll go back to sleep for another hour or so before he wakes up again.
It's times like this when I feel so defeated. There's only so much I can do to help Lil' Mootz, but I wish I had my teammate here to pat me on the back and say, "It's okay, Mom. We'll do this together." Sometimes it's hard to pat yourself on the back and give yourself a pep talk.
Three more months though. Only three more months to go until Stonewall's home and we can pep talk each other.

Yay, 3 months isn't that long! (Unless you're the one waiting for your husband to come home of course. Then it feels like forever.)
You know, you can give babies infant Tylenol for teething. The box says for 2 and under to call the doctor, but our doc just told me how much to give Vivi for her weight and she did much better at night when her 2 bottom teeth were coming in. If he's really miserable you might want to call your pediatrician and just see what they say.
Good luck! I know it's hard to see them in pain :(
That poor baby--- and you poor mama! Can he take baby tylenal? They have that right?
Of course I'm no expert, seeing how I have zero children.
*cyber pat on the back*
I hope it gets better :)
You should try Hyland's teething tablets. They're all natural. I swear by them!! Presleys going through the same thing...and those tablets are life savers!! Hang in there..it does get better!!
Ut oh! Matt and I had joked that while he's home on R&R that we'll keep his sister's baby in our room at night (part of me attempting to convince him that we are not ready to have kids) and I'm now thinking he may start teething soon? Is five months about average? Our nephew will be six months at the end of this month!
Oh, and I completely didn't mean to disregard all of your post in my comment -- I think I'm stating the obvious, but I think the thing that sucks worst about deployments is not having "your person" there for you when you need them.
I try to remind myself that I'm becoming much stronger for all the challenges I've faced alone, but sometimes all you want is a good, ol' fashioned hug :)
Oh man, the teething is misery. I don't have kids, but I remember being a nanny as the little one went through it.
I was thinking about it when I was driving back from P's today. It's gotta be so hard to go through that on your own. I can't imagine not having someone to take turns getting up with. (Although it could happen)
Good luck with it all!
only 3 months left? awesome - nine down! :) good luck w/the teething baby - hopefully you and the little guy get some sleep soon!
I feel your pain! I am not a mommy but I am an Auntie and I have 7 nieces and nephews all under the age of 5. Give him a cool wet wash cloth to chew on for a while...No joke it will help! It will keep him occupied for a while and also help to soothe his little gums! Good Luck!
3 months left...you got that! You're in the short rows! You can totally do it!
Before you know it hubby will be home helping with all the goods. Hae you seen those little pacifiers that has the meshnetting in them you can stick cold fruit pieces or whatever in and they can suck on them. Maybe that would make him a happy little camper?! :)
