A Tale of Good And A Tale of Evil (Bubbles)

I think my pups saved Lil' Mootz's life the other day.

Lil' Mootz was in his Pack N' Play on Friday while I was cleaning. He had a few toys with him and a blanket. He had been sleeping, but I heard him up scrunching around. Since he had been in the PNP for awhile I really didn't think anything of it, mainly because he can't get into anything he isn't supposed to when he's "caged" in.

I was in the kitchen when I heard Sarge, our Chihuahua start to whine. I looked over and he was pacing back and forth between the PNP and the kitchen door so he could look at me. Then I saw Pip, our Pom, and she started whining too and she kept looking up at the PNP and then back at me. I thought this was weird because Lil' Mootz had been spending a good deal of time in the PNP while I was cleaning and the dogs hadn't paid any attention to him. Plus, they're really not the whining types (unless someone is at the door), so it was a bit strange.

Since they were both so intent on the PNP, I rushed over to it and found Lil' Mootz lying in the corner with the blanket wrapped completely around his head and neck! I grabbed him and the got the blanket unwrapped. He was breathing and seemed fine, thank goodness!

I have no idea what exactly set my dogs off. I don't know if Lil' Mootz stopped breathing or they could just tell he was in distress. I have no idea. However, I do think they were Lil' Mootz's heroes.

As a reward I gave them both scratchies, a chewnola bar, and they both got to sleep in bed with Momma that night. They really do love their boy.

In Lil' Mootz's world this bubble maker is evil.

And I think it's hilarious.

It's a motorized bubble maker. You hold down the handle, the little motor starts up, and then bubbles start blowing out of the little whale. (Okay, well, they say it's a whale, but it really just looks like a little cartoon sperm. It really does.)

Every time the little motor starts whirring Lil' Mootz bursts into tears. He is not afraid of noises. In fact, he loves noises. I mean, really LOVES noises, banging noises, screeching noises, high-pitched noises, annoying kid toy noises. Yep, he loves them al. However, for some unexplained reason he does NOT like the noise of a bubble maker motor.

Or perhaps he doesn't like the cartoon sperm. I can't say I blame him there. It is kinda weird looking.

It sounds like you have two little lassie's on your hands! That's so great that they knew something was not ok! I'm glad he's ok!

How scary about Lil Mootz and the blanket. Good thing your dogs started acting crazy!

Where did you find the bubble blower? It would be so much easier than holding a baby with one hand and trying to blow bubbles and not spill the whole bottle with the other. That is if the noise wasn't so scary! Does he like the hair dryer? Grace doesn't like my hair dryer! She gets very nervous everytime I blow dry my hair and today she started trying grab hold of me.

Cartoon sperm. Haha.

Its amazing how dogs can do that. They get so protective around their owners, especially kids and babies. Thank God for them! Coulda been really scary! :)

Dogs are weird like that. My little doggie surprises me almost everyday with how smart he is. It doesn't really surpise me that they let you know he was in trouble. And it was awesome of you to reward them for it.

As for the cartoon sperm, uhhh I don't know what to say.

What little heroes! I remember when our neighbor brought her infant over and he was on a blanket on the floor. My husbands cat came in the room, and Kayden, one of our dogs literally stood over the baby and growled at the cat. I think she would have been a great mom! I think they know... somehow, they just know... :)
