Catching Up & Other Kinda Boring Stuff

I think we need to do a little catching up. I've not been up on the posts this week. I keep thinking of all these things I want to tell you-all, but every time I sit down to the computer I decide I forget what it was I wanted to tell you.

All in all things are going well in the (army)Wife household. Stonewall's been home now for (almost) three weeks and we're pretty much settled back into a normal routine. Stonewall has been super helpful around the house with cleaning and taking care of Lil' Mootz. I am pleasantly surprised because before he deployed Stonewall pretty much left the cleaning to me. Every night though he helps me clean up after dinner and pick up the living room. I've even come home from work and he's emptied the dishwasher from the night before(!!!).

Stonewall and Lil' Mootz are getting along superbly. Stonewall, it turns out, is a natural at this whole dad thing. He's usually out of bed before me, so he can be the one to wake up Lil' Mootz and get him ready for the day. Stonewall loves hanging out with Lil' Mootz in his playroom. After I leave for work in the morning they'll play in the playroom after breakfast until Lil' Mootz wears himself out and crawls over to Daddy and curls up with him for his mid-morning nap. At night, Stonewall is reading "Treasure Island" to Lil' Mootz and I have to practically drag him out of the the room or else he'll just stand by the crib talking.

There have been a few hiccups, but nothing major. There was a fight last Saturday, but we cleared things up pretty quickly and with minimal yelling which was pretty impressive for us given our fighting history. We've also had a few, "But this is how we do it now," moments. However, I think Stonewall and I are both adjusting very well to each other. We are creating a new routine that suits us both and allows us both moments of relaxation.

A few other things that I've wanted to mention...

Remember the budget? So far, so good. The first week wasn't the easiest because we had a major car repair that took away a huge chunk of our budget, but we managed to stay within budget for the rest of the week. This week we'll be facing a similar situation because my rings are finally fixed and that cost a pretty penny. Well, we got through last week on a (very) limited budget, so I'm sure we'll be able to do it again this week.

The other night we watching "Knowing" with Nicholas Cage. If you haven't seen this movie yet I highly recommend that you DON'T. I've already wasted two hours of my life by watching the movie, so I don't want to waste even more time by writing about it. I thought it was about prophecy and telling the future. No, it's about creepy zombie aliens who want to repopulate the Earth when armageddon hits. Just skip it.

There's like a dozen other things I wanted to mention, but I've either forgotten what they are or else they include pictures which I don't have on this computer. I'll get back to you though, I promise.

In the meantime, don't forget to enter the giveaway! So far there are only like 4 entries. Do I need to add another prize to entice you? Just go enter!

That's great that Stonewall has been such a help for you and does such a great job with your little boy.

Glad to hear that everything is going well for you.

Totally agreed that Knowing was horrable. We were into it for most of the movie... then the last 1/2 hour happened.... *fail*

:)

Yes, Knowing = worst movie EVER! Well it's up there with Open Water (I know that's based on a true story but COME ON!)

I'm so glad that you and Stonewall are doing so well together!

Watching little boys with their daddy is the BEST! I hope I never get over that giddy feeling! I can't wait to see what our (hopefully) future daughter does to him! haha
