I haven't been around much the past couple of days because Lil Mootz is sick. For the past three nights he's had temperatures as high as 105....possibly 106. (Depending on whether or not you add the 1 degree for underarm temps. We're getting mixed directions from authority figures on whether or not that is the right thing to do or not.) Every time we call the doctor's officer we're told it's more about his behavior than his temperature. And he is fussy and alert. Every night we're finally able to bring the his temperature down with Motrin and a cool bath, so we're told there is no need to take him to the ER.
He does have two ear infections, but he's been on antibiotics for 48 hours now, so the high fever is really starting to concern me. I don't feel it's just because of the ear infections anymore. Last night he would sleep for 15 to 30 minutes at a time before he would wake up crying. He would only sleep for longer periods if one of us was holding him. Needless to say, it was a very long night.
And he's finally sleeping. I know I should join him, but I'm up so here I am. He still has a fever though. We're heading back to the doctor's office this afternoon.

You may have noticed the Pink Shirt Day icon over to the right. I've been meaning to write a much longer and more indept post, but because of the nature of the post...I'm a little stuck. However, I wanted to point out that April 14 (next Wednesday) is Pink Shirt Day, a day to stand up to bullying every where. You can click on the icon to get more details.
In light of the most recent case of bullying in our country that has caused nurmerous headlines, Phoebe Prince and her tormentors, Pink Shirt Day is an important day to partake in. You can get your official pink shirt by clicking on the icon to the right or you can wear your own pink shirt. Either way, it's time we all stood up to bullies everywhere and said enough is enough. Not just for ourselves, but for the kids that are bullied everyday.
