Blog Against Bullying Blog Party/Hop & Giveaways!

I can honestly say that I hope that most of you reading this have no idea why this topic, bullying, is so important to me. If you don’t know then hopefully that means you were never bullied.

But that doesn’t mean that bullying does not exist. Every day thousands of kids are bullied. And every day kids commit suicide because they are bullied.

You don’t have to be a victim to care about these kids. You don’t have to understand what I went through as a kid to know that bullying is wrong. You don’t have to be the parent of a bullied child to want to stop bullying from happening.

I forgive those kids that bullied me. I forgive them for hurting me. I forgive them because I’m tired of being hurt by them and I want to let it go. I’m lucky that I’m still here and I can forgive them. Many kids won’t ever get that chance.

By blogging about this topic today, maybe I can give another kid that chance someday. I’m not a doctor or a super hero, but maybe I can still save the life of a child that is hurting today. Maybe I can help stop bullying.

I hope you’ll join me.

Thank you so much to everyone who is visiting and participating today!  I can't even begin to tell you how much it means to me.

I've never done this before, so I hope I'm doing it right. I posted a Tweet at AboutOne, hoping others will RT it. I do believe that together we can make a difference, if only in one childs life. Keeping fingers (eyes, toes, whatever) crossed!

I'm not sure what these points are, but I'll figure it out.

You can email me at kimber@aboutone.com

And thank you for bringing this to the forefront. I think everyone has been hurt as a child, at least a little, and knowing there are actual grown-ups that DO care might just make it a little more bearable.

Bullying has become quite a hot issue in the past few years. I feel a lot of parents are not aware as to how bad it gets in school. A close friend of mine was forced to drop out of high school because of it. Bullying has appeared more in the news lately and People magazine had a cover featuring a girl who committed suicide due to bullying. There was also a memoir written a few years back called Please Stop Laughing at Me. Bullying is something that should be taken very seriously.

Good luck on your giveaway and Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

What a fabulous cause. Bullying was my biggest frustration when I was a teacher- because I would feel like I did everything that I could- but the reality is that I couldn't stop all of it.

Glad to have found you through Lady Bloggers!

Thank you so much for doing this!

I signed up before June 4th and blogged about it yesterday here:

    http://sippycupmom.blogspot.com/2010/06/blog-against-bullying-party.html

I've tweeted about it a couple times, most recently here:

    http://twitter.com/SippyCupMom/status/15524299482

I got some good comments on my blog post and from Twitter, so hopefully it has spread! I'm not sure how many entries I have then, is it 15? :-)

HI I just finished my post! I registered before June 4th, but I posted my blog today (the 5th) so not sure how many points exactly that gives me...lol. Doesn't really matter though. I mean, it would be cool to win something, but it was really great just getting the word out there and sharing our story! Thanks for the opportunity! =)

I think I visited all the blogs that you've posted on your page. Is that all there is too it. I left comments on some but couldn't find the comment button on every page.

And - I became more aware of what a serious problem bullying really is. And - I was introduced to some very interesting blogs! :-)

I have learned so much about bullying since I signed up for this blog hop. To be honest when I signed up it was just to support a fellow blogger and her cause, but now I am really interested in this. Thanks for doing this.

Hi! I found you too late! I've been reading some of the links you have regarding bullying. What a great subject to get people talking.

I work at a middle school where bullying is taken very seriously. We have kids fill out forms and then everyone has a chance to speak. Those who are responsible for the ill behaviour are given consequences.

You managed to get a few shy ones to speak up. Great job!!!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin   This whole claim your blog on Bloglovin is driving me fucking bonkers. Any advice would be sincerely app...
