So last night I invited him in to the shower with me. After a few minutes he says:
"I didn't get in here to steep, so suck it, f**k it, or I'm getting out."
To which I replied:
"Was that the romance you were talking about?"
"Yes it was."
I guess I can't say he didn't try.
Oh...and for the record, I did ;)
Actually, my husband does know how to be incredibly romantic when he really wants to be. He's been the planner of many a romantic evening. When it comes to romantic evenings, I think I'm a pretty easy to please.
13. No child
I love my Lil Mootz, you all know that, but a romantic evening is much better without having to worry he's going to start crying in the middle of it.
12. No dogs
There's just something about looking over mid-coitus and seeing 4 pairs of eyes just staring at you. Kind of a mood kill, ya know?
11. Amazing food
I’m not against dinner at my favorite fine dining restaurant, but Poor Man’s Lobster (haddock with a butter sauce) made by Stonewall is just as divine.
10. Oysters
Oysters supposedly have aphrodisiac qualities. This could be true. They’re also just really good and Stonewall and I won’t pass up a chance to indulge ourselves.
9. Sparkling wine
Stonewall and I like to tickle our taste buds (and other areas) with Rosa Regale, a pink raspberry flavored sparkling wine.
8. Bubble bath
This one is a little difficult in our little bitty purple tub. Whenever we decide to spend the night in a hotel room we always ask for a whirlpool tub.
7. Foot rub
Stonewall knows that the way to my heart is through my feet. A foot rub while lounging in warm bath water is one of the best ways to get me ready for all the action to come.
6. Fireplace
Seriously, what is more romantic than a warm, crackling fire especially when it's cold and snowy outside?
5. Inflated self-esteem
Let’s be honest: romance is so much more enjoyable when I’m not thinking about the extra padding I’ve put on since having a baby.
4. Good conversation
As much as Stonewall would like me to tell everyone I married him for his sexual prowess, this just isn’t true. While it was a major plus, what turns me on the most are the conversations Stonewall and I have. I could sit and talk to him for hours on end. It also doesn’t hurt when those conversations include Stonewall telling me how hot I am.
3. A little bit of daring
I like thinking that maybe we're just being a little too naughty, like leaving the blinds open just a crack or getting it on while we're out on our cruise ship balcony or being just a little too loud while at the hotel. It's kind of exciting being a bit daring.
2. Laughter
I am a firm believer that laughter can make every situation more enjoyable, sex included. I love to laugh especially during sex. Stonewall and I have laughed hardest at ourselves during our times of sexual blunders and dirty talk. Hence, the shower situation above.
1. My husband
This one might seem like a given, but it is absolutely necessary to add to the list. There is no one I would rather share myself with more than my husband. He curls my toes more than any guy I’ve ever known. I could say it’s because we’ve have had lots of experience with each other, but Stonewall has known how to get my motor running from day one.
What does your perfect romantic evening consist of?

You are one lucky Yummy Mummy!!!
Pft! Good thing he's shown more romance in previous planning than he did in the shower.
Mine won't even get in the shower at all with me. He says I insist on making the water too hot. But he handles it well when I throw him in the bed in the middle of the afternoon.
And yeah, even one set of eyes can kill the mood.
Right now, all I'd need is my husband. And we don't have kids, so the whole no dogs thing is BIG because our dogs like to stick their noses in other peoples' business... literally!
Hope you join us tomorrow for the MilSpouse Friday Fill-In! Questions are up!
Great list!
Have a great day!

We shower together every morning and have had many a blunder that kept us in giggles for quite some time. Our cats are about to get banned from the room cause one thinks he needs to lay right next to me. Too weird.
I love your list of romantic things for a romantic evening!
Absolutely great list! 5 and 3 are my favorite :)
Okay.... ummmm.... that was just a little too much information for this grandma! *lol* But, I'll have to admit, you did get a laugh or two out of me!
totally cracked me up :D
I love nights in with my husband. I love it when we cook dinner together and then eat outside. I also love getting dressed up and going out. Okay, maybe it's the deployment we were just on and the fact that we're still newlyweds, but I seriously could spend every single second with him now!
