I Am Queen & This Is My Throne

The past two days have been...horrible...painful...craptastic (quite literally)...

In other words, I've been sick.  And not just cold-slash-flu-like sick.  I could deal with that type of sickness.  Down some NyQuil, sleep for 12 hours, and I'm good to go.  No, I've been stomach-virus sick.  I've been (WARNING: TMI just ahead) puking, pooping...sometimes at the same time...aching, restless sleep sick.

It's been miserable.

It started Monday night when I threw up my dinner of pizza and Special-K.  I spent the next 10 hours either sitting on or kneeling in front of the toilet.  So not a pleasant experience.  I spent all day Tuesday feeling like I had been pummeled in a boxing ring.  Yesterday I felt a little bit better.  My stomach wasn't hurting as much and my digestive system seemed to have returned to normal.  Last night I was finally able to eat some real food again without feeling sick.  Now here it is, 12:15 AM, and I'm wide awake because I slept most of Tuesday and got about 10 hours of sleep Tuesday night.  But at least the loo and I aren't bosom buddies anymore.

Stonewall was awesome enough to come home Tuesday night.  He took care of Lil Mootz, cleaned the house, kept my Coke mug full of flat Cola (the only thing my poor stomach could handle), and made sure I got my strength back up yesterday with rest (my mom and sister also helped out with that by taking Lil Mootz on an extended lunch date) and orange juice.

My mother-in-law picked up Lil Mootz Monday night around 11:30 PM.  I didn't want to risk him catching this too.  That would be pure terror to have to watch him go through this.  Actually, he would be in the ER within 10 minutes of his first throw-up.  There is no way I would even try to nurse him back to health on my own.  I would be too scared of dehydration.  Luckily, he seems healthy and completely unaffected.  Daycare, if for nothing else, is good for strengthening the immune system.

Well, if you're still around even after my pooping and puking stories, thanks for sticking with me through the re-telling of my illness.  That's what true blog buddies are all about.

Ugh! That sounds terrible. I had a similar experience of it coming out both ends sitting on my throne puking into a bucket. Awesome. And my dog got a similar virus at the same time. I was so lucky OccDoc was home to clean up the dog barf and dairrhea on the kitchen floor. What a bad few days!

I'm so sorry you had to go through this, but here's something I always use to cheer myself when I'm sick like that, "I'm probably losing a bunch of weight."

Uh-oh! Now I'm worried. Daddy hasn't felt well since Tuesday night. (You two don't know each other do you?) I've been feeding him Nyquil, but he's still miserable. The sounds coming from his stomach are even scaring the dog. I hope this isn't a glimpse of what's to come.

Hoping you feel better soon.

Feel better!! I've had a similar illness and it wasn't pretty...or fun! If you can, try the BRAT diet (Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). It's supposed to help with those sorts of things!

You poor thing! I hope you're back to normal soon.

And guess what? The cookies came today!!! :-) I plan to take a picture and post it on my blog tomorrow. I had already posted today when we checked mail and don't like posting twice in a day. It seems that causes a post to be overlooked - and I wouldn't want Gracie's par pictures overlooked by relatives back home.

Anyway - thanks so much for the cookies!

I'd wipe your butt if you needed me too...well...if I lived near you I would, sorry I don't though.

There is nothing like puking up cereal...and MILK....BLECK! I'm sure it will be along time before you eat that again.

I'm glad your feeling better and got all that sleep. Maybe you should say your sick more often so that you can get caught up on sleep. Yah for having family around to help you!

Get better! I need some more entertainment!

Sounds like my husband and my first Christmas (married) together at his in-laws. 8-( So sorry you were so sick! I'm glad Stonewall was able to come home and help you out a bit. Get well soon!

That doesn't sound pleasant at all. Look on the bright side - you probably lost some weight.

I rarely get that sort of sickness. I rarely ever puke. I do it so often that I almost wish I got that sick just to lose some weight.

Could you be preggers by any chance? ;)
