So? Whadya think of the new look?!
I'm totally digging it! Courtney at Judith Shakes Designs did an AH-MAY-ZING job! She took a piece of chicken scratch drawing that I did and turned it into this. Most of the header is custom illustrations, since I was so picky. She installed everything for me, including my Twitter page and once it was installed she let me make several changes (even some to the artwork), so it was exactly what I wanted. Plus, she did it for a rate that I know benefited me more than it did her considering all the custom work.
After my last experience with having a background design which ended up taking 5 months for a header and button (even though I ordered more and never got it all), I was hesitant to try another designer. I found Courtney when I saw her name on another blog that I thought was really cute. After browsing through her stuff I was head over heels and knew I wanted her to design something for me.
And she did not disappoint! Since I like change so much and I know I'll be changing this all up again in another year or so, I will head straight back to Courtney. I know she'll give me exactly what I want at a price I can afford.
She's even letting me pass on her awesomeness to you guys! When you send your request quote to her use the promo code, "Amuse" to receive $50 off a Blogger Supreme Package or $75 of any Wordpress package. Go check her out!
I'm sure you noticed that aside from the new design there were a couple more new things around here: the blog title and my user name.
As mentioned before, I wasn't feeling the whole "Yummy Mummy" thing. 1) I didn't feel Yummy; and 2) I'm not British. One of my all time favorite subjects in school was Greek mythology. I like to think that every now and again I, like the nine muses, inspire someone with my writing. I also hope that I inspire my son to do great things one day. Also, I tend to think I can be amusing at times. Whether or not that's amusing in the "you're laughing with me" way or in the "you're laughing at me" way, I'll let you decide. (No need to tell me which it is. I like to pretend you're laughing with me.) Either way, this was how "A{muse}ing Mommy" came to be.
As for the "Mrs. Mootz," (and that's pronounced like "foot" not "moo") I wanted a name that would stay the same regardless of my blog title. My first two names were based on my blog title, so I changed them as I changed the blog title. "Mrs. Mootz" will stay with me from now on regardless of what I name my blog. I've also decided that Stonewall needed to join Lil Mootz and I and he will now be called Sir Mootz, a nod to the Army (don't you love his camo toga?) and because he is my knight in camo armor.
So what is a "mootz?" Well...I'll never tell. It's our own little secret. (I will tell you though that it has absolutely nothing to do with our last name. They don't even share any of the same letters.)

It looks awesome!!!
I admit when I first started following your blog I did think you could be British ;)
It looks great!
Love it, and all the Greek Mythology references!
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! And I love the Mt. Laundry sign!
Very cute!
Love it! And as someone named after Greek goddesses, I especially like the nod to Greek mythology. The camo toga was way cool!
Nice design! But, I actually liked the old design better. It's probably just me, though. I like to keep thing predictable, and seldom like change. Once I get used to things, they are normally, okay, though.
It looks great!
The new look is great!
Love the new look! What a great new idea!
And the camo toga is awesome!
Love the new look! I know you've been calling your son Lil Mootz for as long as I've been reading, so I think calling yourself Mrs. Mootz is a great idea! Thanks for the pronunciation as well, I've been saying it in my head as "moo" instead of "foot" so that helps.
LOVE IT! I think the Mt. Laundry sign is my favorite, too!
CUTE!
Very cute! I love the new do!
