Today we're going back to Day 1: Day 1 of the SITS Back 2 Blogging and Day1 of this blog. Here is the first post I ever wrote on this blog on September 5, 2007:
Fashionably Late
"To be early is to be on time...To be on time is to be late...And to be late is unacceptable."
An officer is never late, and so by default, an officer's wife is never late. But I'm always late. If I call it fashionably late, is it acceptable?
I was always late before Stonewall and I got married. I think maybe I was supposed to change once we got married, but for 25 years I've been doing things my way (which is to say 10 minutes after everyone else), and while we were engaged I didn't get any better. I'm not sure why after a day of wedding celebrating anyone thought I would suddenly start being on time. And just to prove I wasn't going to change I was late for breakfast with the entire family the day after the wedding. Six months have gone by and I'm still not on time for anything. I can start getting ready an hour before I'm to leave the house or two hours before I'm to leave the house. It makes no difference. I'm still late. Fashionably late, but late none-the-less
Yeah, I really don't know what kind of first post this was. I mean, sure, this post is all me. I started out telling everyone how I am and how it's going to be and to this day I make sure my blog follows that format.
But, seriously, what kind of introduction is this? This first introduction was my chance to WOW you all with brilliance. I was supposed to introduce myself to this wonderful world that is the blogsphere and announce that now that I have arrived mine is the only blog you should read. Instead I wowed you with the fact that I may have arrived on the blogging scene, but apparently I'm 10 minutes behind the trend.
Super.
Well, I suppose I should just stick to my guns and let you know that I may have been late (to blogging and to Day 1 of Back to Blogging), but gosh darnit, I'm still fabulous.
If you haven't already joined in with Back 2 Blogging you have until September 19, to do so! I really like that post! It shows your new readers a glimpse into the real you. I don't know if we can hang out, though, I'm pathologically early for everything.
I'm early, too! I don't mind people being late for some things... like church, scentsy and pampered chef parties...things like that. They will start without you. But, it drives me nuts for people to be late and to expect others to wait on them.
I wonder if I drive people nuts by being 10 to 15 minutes early? I normally will srive around the block a few times to prevent being TOO EARLY... but I'm always early!
