I don't think I can change the world. I don't think anything I do here on my blog will stop bullying. When I do things like this giveaway or the Blog Against Bullying blog hop, my hope is that I help at least one person whether that's through a donation or by allowing them to open up about a bullying experience or by simply making them aware that bullying does happen. About a week ago I received this email from Karen who participated in Blog Against Bullying.
Hi there,
I joined your "Blogging against Bullying" thing last spring and, though it has taken me a while to orient myself, thought I should follow up with an interesting development. Check the comment under that original post to see what happened after I attended my 25th reunion, wearing my favourite pair of black shoes (and a red skirt) ... http://karenismuttering.blogspot.com/2010/03/resonance-of-my-bully-part-1.html . To be honest, writing that post really helped me to put the story firmly in the past so, while I didn't seek out my bully at the reunion, I wasn't angst filled about being in the same room as her. I have written my own follow-up post at http://karenismuttering.blogspot.com/2010/10/more-thoughts-on-bullying.html .

Thank you so much for sharing this, Karen. I hope your story will help prompt more people to participate in bullying prevention events in the future.

Yay to me!!! I do realize I could have just bought the necklace for much less than I donated, but I support the cause very much and wanted all my money to go to the Trevor Project, with the hopes that I would win! And I did, so thank you!!! :*
