He's provided many moments of amusement here at the Pink Park Bench over the years with mice catching, sombrero wearing, and a Lt. Dan complex. He also saved Lil Mootz's life. He loved his boy more than anything which he proved when he let Lil Mootz pull ears and tail, pet harder than necessary and give hugs harder than what his little body probably should have been hugged. At the end of the night he would curl up beside Lil Mootz during storytime, happy to have a boy just his size.
Pippy seems to be doing okay. I think she might have seen Sarge get hit or at the very least saw him after he had been hit because she ran into the house, her tail was down, and she hid upstairs. Her and Sarge have been best buddies since they were both puppies. I'm not really sure how much a dog can understand about death, but I think she knows something happened to Sarge. There are times, such as when its time to go outside, that she seems very hesitant or unsure because Sarge led the pack at those times.
We buried him Saturday morning while it was still dark outside at the back of the yard by the trees and field he loved to explore.
I know it's so silly, but I keep thinking about how cold it is outside. Sargie was so small he didn't handle the cold too well. When he was a baby I couldn't find a doggy sweater small enough for him, so I made one out of a sock. He looked so cute in his little argyle sock-sweater. When he got bigger I made one for him out of an Army sock.
I miss you so much Sargie-Pargie Puddin' and Pie!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Poor Sarge. Thinking of you and your family. :(
So sad. He had a great life with you though.
Sarge was blessed to have a family that loved him as much as you all did. I'm so sorry to hear of his untimely passing. *hugs*
I'm so sorry, Nik. I know he had a wonderful life with you and that ya'll got lovely snuggles and happy moments from him too. Chin up and remember the happy times.
Oh no! Poor little fella. That's so sad. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to my pups. Sounds like he had a great life.
Oh no. I'm so sorry for your loss. Dogs are the best, truest companions ever and it is so hard to lose a friend like that.
I'm so sorry for your loss!
Aw, I'm sorry to hear this!!!
I lost two pets on the same day in March when my husband was deployed. My dog killed my cat, and we had to have him put down to protect the other dogs. I am so sorry for your loss...it's genuine pain.
So sorry :(
Sad news:( This brought tears to my eyes and I'm not a dog person at all. So sorry to your family!
Oh no! I'm soooo sorry to hear this! I'm glad he had such a loving home.
I am so, so sorry. Losing a lil pup you love is one of the worst feelings in the world. It sounds like he had a great life and passed away painlessly. I'll send a little prayer love his way!
How horrid! I hope you feel better soon - they're definitely part of the family! Aside from pooches - how are you doing?
So sorry for your loss. I know how devastating it is to lose a much loved pet.
