I had a very productive weekend!
On Saturday, I went up to my brother and sister-in-law's house to decorate a cake. My nephew's 1st birthday party is next Sunday, so I was doing a trial run with the cake decorating. I think the party guests will be quite impressed with my mad icing skills :)
And because my mom and I have nothing better to do, like get ready for the grand opening of Pip Events in a little over a month, we decided to paint the "in-law quarters" of my house. (I kid you not. When we bought the house this room was advertised as the "in-law quarters." Like we live in a mansion in Beverly Hills and not a 1600 sq ft cape cod in Po' Dunk, PA.) This part of the house was built about a year before we bought the house. Basically, the folks had enough money to build the room, but not enough to finish it off. The walls were just plain dry wall, no paint, crappy tile job in the bathroom. We've pretty much used it as a storage area (until recently when we hooked up the Super Nintendo and X-Box and it became the video game room...), but I want to turn it into my work room for Pip Events and one can not be creative when staring at chalky walls...
The room is obviously not finished yet. However, even just one coat of blue paint in half of the room is a vast improvement. We're painting the bottom half an oatmeal color and putting up a white chair rail. I'm pretty excited because it's going to look awesome!
How was your weekend?

I look forward to seeing the end product!
I have the paint itch so bad but I'm fighting it!!! I hate the thought of painting it back in a year!
That cake looks awesome!
