Lil' Mootz loves when I dance around with him while singing a song.
Aside from the issue of my horrible singing voice, my problem comes from not remembering many kids' songs. I need some new songs! My list of danceable songs that I remember is pathetically short.
Mama's Little Baby
Playmate
Hokey Pokey
On Top of Spaghetti
Little Ducky Duddle
How Much Is That Doggy In the Window?
See? That's it. Just terrible. When you become a mom children's songs should just automatically reappear in your head.
So help a momma out here, people. What were your favorite songs as a kid or what songs do your kids love to sing now?

But my son really likes singing the Spongebob Squarepants Theme Song
Hey, you're doing better than me!! I can only think of about 2! lol
Grace loves the itsy bitsy spider. And she loves it even more when the spider crawls up her and tickles her!! Recently I just remembered I'm a Little Tea pot. And she loves the ABC's.
Baby Bumblebee is the only one not listed that I can think of
itsy bitsy spider...wheels on the bus...you are my sunshine...little bunny fu fu...3 blind mice
Anything from the Imagination Movers, Mickey's Playhouse, Handy Mandy, Choo Choo Soul, Happy Monster Band, etc. Pretty much anything from the Playhouse Disney shows. They all have cds now with fun music kids like to dance to. And the words are easy enough for mom to sing along with.
I admit Im a big fan of Barney songs and songs from the Backyardigans, I just love Secret Agent by the Backyardigans and Theres a Party in My Tummy by the cast of Yo Gabba Gaba
Maks loves "This Little Light Of Mine" which is a sunday school song... not sure how familiar you are with those. Deep And Wide, Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children...
But then there is also Hush Little Baby, Old McDonald (Maks now will make the piggy noise!)
I was singing along and going crazy with his little music CD's in the car the other day... I turn to look at the car beside me at the red light, and two soldiers were sitting there just staring at me with their mouths hanging open hahaha
Oh Lord, I feel like a bad mom now because I def don't sing to Bean...
OK do you have Noggin? If so, the show Yo-Gabba-Gabba is perfect for short kids songs they love to sing, plus they do dance moves to go along with it!!!
I grew up in New Mexico, and there were 2 couples that had a band... no joke, called the Green Chili Jam Band. They have fun songs, and since 3 out of the 4 members are teachers, they are mostly educational! I know they have three cd's, "Magic Bike", "Starfishing", and "Coconut Moon" (released in that order). They have fun music, that we loved growing up. Now I sing them to my step daughter, and she has her favorites. I know when I have a little one, I'll be singing about the Koala that has 'a nose like a hockey puck, and beady little eyes, you can't tell what he's thinking because he always looks surprised!' (that's one of my favorites), but they have songs about the 'boo boo truck' that will come and help you if you get hurt, and being 'toothless', and being creative by reading a book.
