1.What is ONE thing you’d like civilians to understand about being a military family?
Being a National Guard family, this is something I would like civilians and some active duty families to understand...
They do work hard, this life of constantly straddling the line between civilian and military isn't easy or better, some of them do give it all, all of them give just as much as the next servicemember, and they deserve your respect because they earn it every time they put on that uniform.
Oh, and if you insult the National Guard online I'll just rip you apart verbally. (I've done it before...you know who you are.) If you insult the National Guard to my face I will do something nasty like scrub your toothbrush with my lady parts. (I've also done that before...and you DON'T know who you are.)
2.What is your favorite mistake?
I'd tell you, but I don't think my husband would appreciate me detailing that. He was cute though...
3.What indulgence could you give up for a year?
There are several I could give up...Fiji Water, Rosa Regale, Oreos, online shopping. However, there are none that I would give up...
4.If you could be a winged animal, what would you be?
A Pegasus. With pink wings. And golden hooves. And fairy dust throughout my silken mane. I'd be the fastest and bestest Pegasus there ever was.
5.What is one question you’d like to see asked in a future MFF?
What is a weird/funny superstition that you have? (I like verification that I'm not the weirdest person out there.)
Or, What is the ugliest fashion trend you ever bought into? (I'd like to make fun of you, so can you please provide a picture as well.)

I think I will answer your question for the next MFF....
how about rolling your jeans up, and wearing 3 pairs of different colored socks!?!? Did you do that?
I love your answer to #4! I would love to have a purple pony with pink hair and fairy dust all over it! It's a joke between my husband and I!
We are active duty and I am always surprised how people forget about the National Guard or REserves. Maybe because we almost went guard after our first enlistment ended. I have always told my husband how hard it would be to up and leave your civilian job to go do your military job!
"If you insult the National Guard to my face I will do something nasty like scrub your toothbrush with my lady parts. (I've also done that before...and you DON'T know who you are.)"
OMG I think I busted my gut laughing when I read that! You had me in tears laughing so hard!
love it! You always make me laugh!
You? Weirdest person out there? I won't believe it! *must keep toothbrush away from yummy mummy just incase*
you are so true about the lack of respect for guard families......my dad has been in the guard for over 30years and i was in for 8years.......you get them girl!!
i DO know who that person is and they TOTALLY deserved it :)
LOVE your future questions. I'll definitely use them.
And I'm in class with several Nat'l Guard members.... they are totally awesome--along with everyone else!
Oh I remember your nat guard beef back in the day...that was no fun. :( Things seemed to have cooled off since then!
We're a new NG family and have gotten the "you're deploying, I didn't think the Guard did anything", or the lovely "wow enjoy my tax dollars with all your military benies" and "why did he join the Guard when he could have gone active and actually done something?" I guess deploying a mere two months after completing AIT isn't doing anything but whatever. Some people just suck at life I suppose!
I love the questions you asked! I'd answer those.
Oh..and you are a braver woman than I for mentioning giving up online shopping. I couldn't and wouldn't EVER be able to give that up.
ROFLMAO @the toothbrush and your lady parts!!! Oh my, I can't stop laughing! I just read it to my husband and he cracked up too. You rock lady!
My boyfriend is in the National Guard. He is also enlisted...went through basic and AIT and everything. He's also a college student. (I'm older hehe) I haven't had anyone say any comments to me (yet). If they did... I would be pissed. He is really good at his job...and just because he isn't active doesn't mean he is less of a soldier or less good at his job. He's probably even better at his job than some active duty soldiers. I think when people say insulting comments... it just shows their ignorance and their disrespect.
